Joanne Stoeckl - Photographer

At 18 years of age Joanne joined the Canadian Forces as a photographic technician. Like all military members, she called many places home. She was posted to Comox, Trenton and Ottawa when she finally made her way back to the Comox Valley in 2003.

Throughout her 29 year career in the military, Joanne worked with people from all walks of life, photographing ceremonies, celebrations, shooting images from military aircraft and documenting the last journeys of fallen soldiers. One of her career highlights was being selected as one of the official photographers (1999 to 2003) to the former Governor General Adrienne Clarkson.
